Shaving Armpits
|
|
Let’s start with armpits. This hair
grows so fast, faster than any other part of your
body. For some women it will grow faster, darker,
and thicker than others. I HAVE to shave every day.
Seriously, sometimes at the end of the day I can
tell it has grown. I think everyone should shave the
armpits every day. I am not saying you cannot have a
lazy day. If you do, wear long sleeves, or stay
inside. Watch what you wear. I know you are
thinking, “I will be fine, no one will notice.” That
is not true. If it is there and you are wearing
short sleeves, or god forbid a tank top, people will
see it. It is like an elephant in the room. That is
where everyone’s eyes will zoom right to. Maybe you
think, I just will not raise my arms all day, and it
will be hidden. Not going to work. If you notice how
often you move your arms in a day or raise them
above your head you will see this is impossible. Be
very aware of this!!! |

| Your underarm area can be really
sensitive. Mine is. I always get red bumps under my
arms, no matter what I do or use. I think a lot of
it has to do with that fact that the hair is so
thick and course, you can get a lot of ingrown
hairs. This is where the bumps come in. I just think
most women are plagued by this. I do not know how to
get rid of them, yet. If you do, let me know.
Ingrown hairs can be painful and irritating. They
look icky too. I leave the bumps alone and let them
go away over time. If they are painful, well that is
a different story. You can tell if they are infected
it will be painful or irritating, especially to the
touch. It will sometimes look like a zit. Sometimes
you can actually see pus, just like a zit. I know,
gross. I pop these, some of you will think that is
gross, but it will relieve the pain or discomfort.
It will also heal faster. Some hurt really bad, but
I figure one quick pain while you pop, or prolonged
pain while it heals naturally? I choose the quick
pain. Other times you will hardly feel it when you
pop the little zit. Before it heals you might have a
scab. These are little, and it happens when you pop.
This will not happen all the time, it depends on how
big the zit is and how easily it pops. I know, a lot
of people say you should never pop zits. I cannot
help it!! I hate when I have a zit, I have to pop
it, especially when it hurts so much. I think it
look worse when you have these pus filled bumps. I
really will ease the pain and heal faster. |

| The first thing you want to do
when shaving is wet the area. Never ever shave dry
skin! You will get serious razor burn. Next, you
want to get your favorite shaving gel or cream. I
would never use regular soap. If I was in a pinch
and had nothing else to use I would, but that is the
only time. Soap, I find, irritates the armpit area
more. If I can, I will actually use hair conditioner
to shave under my arms before I will use regular
soap. It is more conditioning and softens the skin
and hair better so you will get a closer shave. The
best thing to use is a shaving gel or cream. You
want to squirt some on your hands and rub. This will
get a good later going, and with the gel type you
have to rub to get it to turn into the foam. Apply
this to your skin and shave. Make sure your razor is
clean and not dull. Dull razors will irritate your
skin more and you will have razor burn easier. The
type of razor you use will have some affect on the
shave you get. Obviously cheap razors are not going
to work as well and the more expensive ones. I get
the ones in the middle range. I think you can get a
good shave without spending $20 for a razor. Watch
though, your razor might be causing irritation or
razor burn. If you cannot get it to go away or have
it after every shave I would try to switch it up and
try a new type of razor. You are going to want to
shave in the opposite direction the hair is growing.
The underarm area is tricky because the hair can
grow in different directions. The hair in the area
is really stubborn too. If I shave in only one
direction I will not get a good shave. I go in all
directions. I even shave in the opposite direction.
Make sure to rinse the razor often. You do not want
it to get clogged, if it does, is basically stops
shaving. Also, rinse your armpits when done to get
the residue of the shaving gel off your skin. |
