Shaving Tips

Shaving is an endless job. Most women hate it. Personally, I do not like it, but I try to do it everyday. Call me crazy. I have this fear, I am going to not shave one day, and get in an accident or something and everyone in the world will see my hairiness. It is like that rule: go to the bathroom before getting into a car, because if you have a full bladder it can shatter in an accident. I should say that when I shave every day I am only shaving my armpits and my legs. The bikini area I will only shave every couple days. We will get into that later. Shaving is the best for armpits, legs, and the bikini area. It will last for one to two days only, not a long time. I am going to go over shaving for all area of the body. Tips will be given and techniques. Hopefully it helps. The nice thing about shaving is that is it inexpensive and easy to do. You do not have to leave your house to do it, or make an appointment. It really does not take a lot of time. I recommend shaving for most areas of the body.

Some things to always remember, no matter what part of the body you are shaving is: razor burn, cuts, and nicks. To help prevent this you want to use a decent razor that is not too dull. Also, be careful if the razor is new, sometimes that can cause razor burn or cuts, if you shave too fast and quick. Just shave a little more careful and slower. Try to get a razor with at least three blades, it will help you get a better shave and in less strokes. If you do use dull razors you are not going to get as close of a shave. Another thing is water temperature. You do not want to be cold while shaving. This will make your hair to stand on end and give you razor burn. Make sure the water is warm enough. Rinse your razor with water often during shaving and this will prevent clog up in the razor. Clogging your razor will give you a not so close shave. Do not rush while shaving, it can cause you to nick and cut yourself more. Common bony areas to watch out for are: ankles, the front of your lower leg, and knees. Just go slower while shaving these spots.

Getting razor burn, cuts and nicks are going to happen. The best thing to do is get a band-aide on it right away. Watch though, depending on how badly you cut yourself you may need to switch out your band-aids. If it is a bad cut you might have a lot of blood. If you do, you need to switch out the band-aids often, because otherwise you will bleed through it. There are some products that will help the area heal faster and possible without a scar. You might want to try Neosporin or hydrocortisone cream to achieve this. Another good product that I use for razor burn is Aloe Vera Gel. It soothes the skin and calms it down.

There is some advice to shaving. I go through every part of the body that you could possibly shave separately and give tips and how to’s. Also, in a separate article I go through common products and rate them. Let me know if there are products you love or hate. Also if you have tips to give, things that have worked well for you.
