| Everyone wants to be a tanned
goddess, right? Well, you can be if you use sunless
tanners. They can be time consuming and a pain, but
the results are worth it. Plus, you really save your
skin in the end. I love sunless tanners because you
look tan, but without the skin cancer and wrinkles
the real sun leaves you with. If done right you can
control the color you end up with. Just do not
overdue it. I know people think you will get an
“orange” look, but now the market has really good
products. Over time they have perfected the science
to sunless tanning and making it look real. I will
tell you how to obtain the tanned goddess look, and
give you valuable tips along the way. Believe me, I
have learned from my mistakes. |

You really have to be careful
when using sunless tanners. First rule is, never use
sunless tanners if your skin is dry. The color will
be attracted to the dry areas and your look will be
really blotchy. Yuck. If you have dry skin work on
moisturizing it and getting it re-hydrated before
starting a sunless tanner. |

| |
| The first step to sunless
tanning, or re-hydrating your skin, is to get a good
body scrub. There are two kinds of scrubs you can
use, salt scrub or sugar scrub. You can use either
one you would like. The difference is that the salt
scrubs have bigger granules than the sugar scrubs
will. Look at a piece of salt (sea salt) and compare
it to a piece of sugar. The sugar scrub will be less
abrasive on your skin. I recommend using a sugar
scrub if your skin is sensitive. The purpose to
using a scrub is to scrub and exfoliate the dead dry
skin off your body. This will leave behind smooth,
soft skin. In turn you will not be a blotchy tanned
goddess. Remember, if you have really dry skin when
you start this process, it might be a good idea to
do the process a couple of times. If your skin still
feels dry, wait to sunless tan. Get your skin
conditioned for the sunless tanning lotion. If you
don’t, it will look really bad. Listen to me. So,
finding a scrub is pretty easy. Look at Target,
Wal-Mart, salons. The salt scrub will be easier to
find. Make sure you can use the scrub on your face.
Some recommend you don’t. I always used it on my
face anyways, I just rub really gently. A lot of
face washes have scrub in them, you could use that
too. Dove has one that I like. Just do not use a
scrub that comes from a pit on your face. For
example, St.Ives has an apricot scrub. Apricots have
pits; you do not want to use this. It is too
abrasive on your face. What they do it smash the
apricot pit and you get these tiny pieces that are
not smooth. Then you rub it on your face. A good way
to explain what you are rubbing on your face is
almost like little jagged pieces of glass. Say you
smash a mirror; you get tiny pieces of uneven glass.
They can have sharp edges, and that is what you are
rubbing onto your face. This will put tiny
microscopic little cuts on your face. That is an
opening for bacteria and germs, which in turn will
make your face break out. This will make your face
break out if you just use that to wash your face.
Then, you are going to put the sunless tanner on,
that will make you break out more. Watch out for
products that say “natural” on them. They
probability come from pits. It sounds good on paper,
but it is really bad for your face. If you find the
face washes, like Dove, they have soft, round, micro
beads that are used to exfoliate. This is what you
want to use on your face. |
