Cosmetic Tattoo Eyebrows - Part 1
Part 1 - Part 2

I am going to tell you about my experience with cosmetic tattooing. I had my eyebrows tattooed in 2007. I am very glad I did it. I am pretty young, and you might wonder why I would have to have my eyebrows tattooed. Well, in the seventh grade I tried to teach myself how to pluck my eyebrows. With no past experience, I hadn’t even ever seen someone pluck eyebrows before. So I plucked and plucked trying to get both of my brows to look even. Something to know, your eyebrows will never look exactly the same. You have to know that and except it. I never did and for years I plucked the hell out of them. Thank goodness thin brows were in at the time. So six years later I decide, yeah this look is not “in” anymore and I need to grow them out.

When I grew my eyebrows out they grew out but they were not in the form of a solid brow. There were a lot of spaces and it did not grow out full. So, it looked really weird. Then, for about five years I have been filling them in with powder. Everyday and that gets annoying fast. I hated it because anytime I wanted to go swimming I would not go because I knew I would go into the pool with eyebrows but come out without eyebrows. I also felt like I had to have make-up on all the time. I could not go anywhere without the brows filled in. I never wanted anyone to see them naked without the help of the powder. Then, if it was hot, they would melt off with the rest of the make-up and that is embarrassing. You have one brow and the other is missing. I was really self-conscious about it.

I kept thinking about how much it sucked and trying to figure out what I was going to do about it. I was working at a clinic at the time and they had a dermatology area. Then I find out that they do cosmetic tattoos. I talked to the estitian and she did a skin test. She just poked a needle with the pigment behind my ear to make sure I was not allergic to it. I felt good about it and ready to go for it and then I started to chicken out. This is permanent and scary. If they screw up everyone will know because it is on your face!

A couple of months went by and people at work were getting work done. This helped me out a lot. I got to see the work and see that it looked good. I finally got the push I needed to get it done. And let me tell you, I am so glad I did it.
