Face Masks How To

Face masks are great for your skin. They help keep it clear and free of blemishes. They also can help reduce wrinkles, smooth and soften the skin, moisturize, and keep your skin looking it's best! There are so many types out there. Read the back of the product to see what it can do for your face. Clay masks will help clear out pores for oily and acne prone skin. Moisturizing masks help nourish and moisturize dry skin. Peel off masks help clear and unclog pores. Those are the most common types of masks, but look and see what is out there. A lot of companies are making it easier for the consumer by multi-tasking masks. Most will now help do two things at once for your skin.

You want to get in a healthy routine for you skin. I do a face mask once a week, religiously. Every Sunday night I put on my face mask. I have been doing this since the seventh grade. It helps my skin look good and helps keep my blemishes to a minimum or non-existing. I have a couple different types of masks, and I switch it up so that my skin looks it's best. If it is feeling dry, especially in the winter, I will use a moisturizing mask more often. I kind of gage what mask I use on how my skin is doing that week.

You want to read the directions on the back of your product and follow those to a T. I will give you the basic steps to doing a face mask but know that it will change from product to product.

You want to start by washing your face. Always start with clean hands! First, I remove my eye makeup with an eye makeup remover cloth. Then, I splash warm water on my face a couple of times. I get my face soap and later that in my hands. Apply the face wash to your face and rub in circular motions for a minute. I had an estitian tell me this once, and when I started timing it, and making sure I was washing for a minute my face cleared up more. You need to make sure you wash it long enough or you will not get the benefits. I bet you are not washing your face long enough, try it and you will notice the benefits. I have a clock in my bathroom and I just watch the time. Before I was probably only washing it for 10-20 seconds. Think of all the dirt left behind. When I started washing for a minute, I had noticeably less dirt on my cotton pads when i would use a toner after. You could literally see the benefits. Dry your face after washing it.

After you wash your face you can apply the mask. Apply a thin layer, or it will never dry. Be careful around your eyes when applying. Most masks should stay on your face for 10-20 minutes. You will feel it start to dry. Relax, leave it on, and you will know it is done when it is dry. Most masks you will remove with warm water and a washcloth. A lot of products say to just use warm water. I have found that this is not enough. You need a washcloth to scrub it off. Peel off mask you will peel off in an upward motion once they are dry.

After the mask is off and I have rinsed my face, I will apply my toner. If my skin is really dry I will skip this step and just put on my night cream. You want to apply toner if your skin is not dry. The mask has opened and cleaned your pores. You want to get the toner on your face so that it can really get the benefits. After the toner has dried I apply my night cream. It is a moisturizer, but designed for night time. This will not make your face breakout. I recommend everyone get some. I love the one Olay makes.

That is it, the basic steps for a face mask. your face will feel so good after. The longer you do it the more you will notice the benefits. Pretty soon you will be like me, addicted to fresh clean skin!
