Face Masks - What you should
know!
|
Face masks are a great way to make
your skin look its best. There are different kinds
so you can find a mask that will work the best for
you. Do not expect it to work miracles, but you
should notice a difference right after removing the
mask. Over time your results will get better and
better. I use masks once a week, I have a ritual,
ever Sunday night I put one on. Some will tell you
that you can use it two to three times a week, but I
think that is just too much. You want your skin to
have time to heal from a mask and do not want to do
it too often because it can dry out your skin. Some
are designed to pull out your impurities and when it
works your face will be broken out for a couple days
to a week. When the impurities are pulled out they
are on the surface of the skin, and noticeable. Let
this heal before applying another mask. |

Always make sure you skin is
clean before applying a mask. Follow the
instructions very well, this is the way you will get
the benefits. Most masks are applied for 10-20
minutes. I like to watch TV, or paint my nails while
it works its powers. Most, but not all masks are
done when they are dry. It will depend on how much
of the mask you put on your face. Most say to apply
a thin layer. If it tells you to do that and you
apply a thick layer, you might need to keep it on
longer, or remove it, but it might not be dry.
Some common types of masks are: clay, mud, gel, and
cream. Clay and mud masks are similar and they will
absorb excess oil on your face. They also help
tighten your skin. Gel masks go on wet and cool and
when they dry it gets tight on your face. You will
then peel it off, this is a masks that has to dry to
get the benefits. You will pull dead skin right off.
Cream masks will moisturize your skin and pump it
full of nutrients. Read the back of the masks to
find the benefits of that specific mask. Now a days
there are more than one benefit to a mask. |

I do not dislike a mask
that I have used to this day. Some are better than
others but they are all beneficial. I personally do
not like ones that say "pulls out impurities"
because almost all of these will make your skin
break out for a couple of days after. That is what
it is meant to do, pull them out, but they do not go
into thin air. They are pulled out and brought to
the surface of the skin. I hate when my face breaks
out, so that is why these are not my favorite. I
like ones that tighten and help clear up your skin.
Honestly, everyone should do face masks. If you do
not want to do it once a week, try twice a month, or
even once a month. I honestly believe that once you
start you will be like me, doing it for the rest of
your life. I started in the seventh grade, and that
was decades ago, and I am still doing it. The only
time I do not do a face mask is if I am on vacation.
Face masks can benefit everyone. You do not need to
get an expensive one either. I get most of mine at
Target or Wal-Mart. They last you awhile too. Read
the instructions and follow them. Read the back and
watch for what it is supposed to do for your skin,
and that is the best way to pick one out. Most are
for all skin types now. Be more careful if you have
sensitive skin. You will have clearer skin, and you
skin tone will be more even and you will have softer
and smoother skin. I guarantee it. You will love it
and become addicted like I have. |
