Makeup - A Girl's Best Friend
|
Make
up is really a girl’s best friend. It is an instant
pick me up for anyone. I think wearing it can and
will make you feel better and look better. I am not
a superficial person, but I have experienced life
with and without make up; it is better with! When I
choose not to wear make up I feel like crap about
myself. I feel like crap because I look like crap.
Even adding one thing, like blush, it makes a
difference. I do not do the whole face everyday.
Weekends are more my time off. If I am not going out
or doing anything, I will sometimes forget the make
up. I just try not to look into the mirror much that
day. Weekends are a lazy or less look for me. I will
at least throw on blush and mascara. It does wonders
when you compare that to wearing nothing at all. I
have truly experienced life with and without make up
and have noticed what a positive thing it can be. |

I
broke my foot and was unable to walk for three
months, so sitting in bed I figured why get ready at
all. Who was I going to see? I figured putting on
make up was a waste of energy and of products.
Honestly, I was so depressed and I felt like crap.
Every time I looked into the mirror I wanted to just
puke. I felt like such crap because I looked it, and
it brought my self esteem way down. Years later I
find out I have to have another foot surgery. Great,
I immediately went to that depressed feeling. I was
not going to be able to walk for 10 weeks this time.
I was going to be stuck at home again and I was not
looking forward to it at all. I was really worried
about it. So, this time I decided to put make up on
every day and do my hair. Nobody was going to see
me, but I didn’t care. You know what? It went so
much better than I ever thought. I did not get
depressed at all. It was because I got ready in the
morning. When you take a minute to swipe on blush it
will pick up your mood and get you through the day.
I could not believe it, until I experienced it first
hand. I did not think I would get through that
second surgery, but I did and without feeling like
crap about myself. This is why I recommend taking
that extra five minutes in the morning to at least
put on some make up. |

Everyone
needs to figure out their own routine and the look
they want. You want to think about how much time and
effort you want to put into it. If it seems hard at
first, just keep with it, practice helps a lot and
gets you comfortable. Believe me- I had no one to
teach me anything. I would just go home and practice
and try new things. Trying new things at night is a
good idea because at the end of it you wash your
face and go to bed. Weekends are also a good time,
you can actually take time to play around and try
new things. Starting out it might take you 15 or 20
minutes to get ready, after doing everyday for
awhile you will cut that down to 10 minutes a day.
Keep with it and practice. Have fun and try new
things! |
